# Google Tag Manager

> Run your Google Analytics, Google Ads and conversion tags from one Tag Manager container, after the buyer's consent.

Add one Google Tag Manager container and manage your Google tags there instead of pasting ids into ShopFast one by one.

## Add your container

Open **Settings → Integrations → Tag Manager** and paste the container id from Tag Manager (**Admin → Container
settings**). It looks like `GTM-ABC1234`: `GTM-` followed by capital letters and digits. Anything else is refused.

## When it loads

- **After consent, always.** The container loads only once the buyer allows analytics, from your cookie banner or the
Cookie consent app. While a container is set, buyers are always asked first, even if you had consent turned off.
If the buyer allows analytics but not marketing, Google's ad storage stays denied (Consent Mode).
- **On your store pages.** Home, collections, products, search and your own pages.
- **Not on checkout, unless you turn it on.** The cart, checkout and payment step can show card fields, and every tag
in a container can read the page. **Also load on cart and checkout pages** turns it on there, with a warning. Keep it
off unless you control every tag in the container.
- **Never on order and account pages.** They show license keys.

## Security policy

Your store's pages only allow scripts from your store. While a container is set, the pages that load it also allow
Google's tag servers (Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads), and nothing else. Remove the container and the
policy goes back to your store only.

Tags built from Tag Manager's own templates (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Conversion Linker) work. **Custom HTML tags
do not run**: they need inline scripts, which your store never allows.
